I’m a stay-at-home mom to 4 kids under 7, and I spend my days fighting through the pressure to be thin, happy, have the perfect house and the perfect life. Here’s the reality.
Life isn’t perfect.
But we can choose to find joy everyday.
For 10 years, I worked as a TV news reporter, wearing false eyelashes, dresses and high heels. There was enormous pressure to be fit, beautiful, young and intelligent. Today, I stay home with my 3 active boys and baby girl, I’m 40 pounds overweight, I haven’t showered since last week, and let’s be honest, the only thing I can speak eloquently about is how to turn on Disney Junior.
I’m not perfect, and that’s okay.
I don’t have my ideal body, I don’t have ideal kids and most of my mothering days are far from idea. But I am living my ideal life. Happy and messy; loud and loving; treasuring, and treasured by, the people who matter.
You are beautiful.
You are enough.
Just the way you are.
A little more about me
My husband and I are high school sweethearts. We’ve been married for 15 years and together more than 20.
We live in St. Petersburg, Florida, and we have 3 sons and a baby girl.
My husband travels a lot and we have no family nearby, so we also have a live-in au pair. (I know lots of bloggers wouldn’t admit this, but I don’t do this alone and won’t pretend to.)
