I wake up and walk to the closet to put on my work

I wake up and walk to the closet to put on my workout clothes. As I pull my shirt over my head, I close my eyes and put on gratitude. I pull up my workout pants and put on happiness. I put on my socks and lace up my shoes, and I put on joy. I adorn myself with grace as I put my hair in a ponytail. I pray for patience today as I brush my teeth. In 4 minutes, I got ready for the day and made the choice to thrive. 👊🏻 Also I’m all out of photos of myself in workout clothes so this is what you get. 🤣

You are serving them so hard you barely stop to pee. You haven't showered in days. The work is a constant cycle that never ends: food, dishes, laundry, [fill in the blank with your own reality], repeat. As soon as you finish one, it is undone and you must do it again. The work feels invisible but it's not. They have you and they need you. You are keeping this ship afloat. You are everything right now. You may not be able to see your work but it's there. Keep going Mama. I see you.

Nothing to see here, just me and my quarantummy wishing we could fit into a Fabletics outfit we ordered sight unseen. Turns out we’re not those kind of girls, and that’s okay. We won’t ever fit into a two-piece outfit that comes in small, medium and large, and that’s okay. Also we’re not Kate Hudson like we thought we were, and that’s okay. 🤣 I showed my husband and he said “I don’t care for high-waisted pants on you,” and that’s okay. Then I showed him what these pants look like when they’re not holding in the pouch (swipe 😳😂) and he said “well, okay” and walked away. (Kidding he didn’t say that but I thought it sounded funny.) If you see pudges and rolls when you try things on, YOU ARE PERFECTLY NORMAL. Millions of other women have been there too. Tonight, I am giving you permission to love yourself. Yours is what a normal human body looks like. And mine is too. (Except maybe for the ass on my lower back. Now that’s a little weird. 😂) You do you and don’t let anyone stop you! 💥

Instagram posts are supposed to be hopeful and positive. But can I break tradition and just be really freaking honest? Some days are awesome but others just feel so heavy and hopeless. This time is confusing and confounding. I look back at old pictures and think how much simpler life used to be. It's in those moments I find myself thinking of her. What would she say? One year ago today, I would have never believed that a little ball of porcelain skin and matted orange hair would be the best accomplishment of my life; that seeing my son smile would be more thrilling than the biggest news story I could break; that watching him sleep would make me gleam with more pride than winning an Emmy or anchoring the best show; that just thinking about his birth day would make me weep with gratitude. Sullivan, I wake up everyday, feeling like the luckiest woman alive because God picked me to be your mother. 🌟 I wrote this to my oldest on his first birthday and today, almost 10 years later, it absolutely still rings true about him, and our other 3 babes. 🌟 My sweet babies, being YOUR mother is an absolute privilege, my highest calling and will always be the richest and most rewarding accomplishment of my life. 🌟
