If you’ve thought about taking a break from drinking, but stop yourself short every time because you can’t guarantee your success, I’m so glad you’re here. In this episode of She Just Glows: The Podcast, I’m lashing out against the labels the alcohol-free community has gotten way too comfortable with — and why I think it’s hurting more than it’s helping. And the anything-but-alcohol idea is catching on: Nightline on ABC News just featured me in a special about a rise in the popularity of THC seltzers!
Need support in your alcohol-free journey? Head to my coaching page for details on how we can work together.

If you want to change your drinking, but you believe you have only 2 options — sober or alcoholic — I’m here to tell you that’s a bold-faced lie.
There’s room to grow and evolve in the gray area. You don’t have to pick the drinking you’re doing now or nothing at all.
Don’t get me wrong: I do believe being completely sober is the best way. Hands down.
But you’re not a robot, and neither am I.
A recent comment on one of my social media posts activated something in me that I wanted to share here.
Labels in the alcohol-free space are not helpful.
Why do we need to put people in different categories, and decide one is better than the other?
What if there was room for everyone in the alcohol-free space?
Because it’s not one decision, once in your life.
Living an alcohol-free life is a journey, with ebbs and flows, just like life. You are allowed to evolve, grow, change your mind and learn to thrive by a set of your own rules. And no one gets to tell you if that’s right or wrong.
What you’ll learn in this episode:
- The brain science that applauds going alcohol-free for even one day
- Why tiny, consistent changes are enough to get you there
- My recommended timeline for going alcohol-free
- How much heavy drinkers spend on alcohol in their lifetime
- The slippery slope of immediately subbing another buzz for alcohol
