The Power of Now (& A Big Announcement!) SheJustGlows.com

It was kind of like the pile of clean laundry that’d been sitting on my dining room table for the last 6 days.

I wanted to do it.

But the task felt mammoth. Huge. A mountain I needed to climb. But, I didn’t feel like I could do it, at least not with the time I had available today.

The idea of an eBook came to me several months ago.

But, every time I thought to start it, I kept coming up with a reason not to.

I’m pregnant. It’s going to take forever. What will I write about? What if I spend a ton of time on it, and it doesn’t sell? (And since we all know stay-at-home moms get nothing done all day anyway, why add to the distractions, right?)

Wrong.

The Power of Now is happening.

Like, NOW.

Basically, I changed my mind.

Instead of looking at the laundry, I folded it and then put it away. (Yes, both of those in the same day. Crazy, I know.)

And instead of daydreaming about my eBook, at Bible study and on the drive to preschool, I actually started it.

Literally. The outline was started and finished today. Yes, the outline is done. (And, it wasn’t even that hard!)

The power of now is real and strong. And powerful.

And with it, you can actually cross something off the list that’s been bugging you for a really long time.

And, it feels pretty freaking amazing.

My sister and I were talking about this the other day.

She likes to get all her house cleaning done during the week, while her husband’s at work. But with a new baby, getting the floors scrubbed, laundry folded and kitchen spotless was nearly impossible during the week. Since she didn’t want to clean during the weekends, on the principle that it was “family time,” she ended up sitting around on Saturday and Sunday, feeling really bugged by the state of her house. Until one Saturday, when she told herself, ‘I’m not going to wait until next week, and be left with a house that does not make me happy. The hubby and baby are just chilling, watching TV, so I’m going to do it now.” An hour later, the whole house was clean, except the floors, and she felt like she could relax and enjoy the day.

There’s something to be said for the power of now. Stop going around in circles, talking yourself down from accomplishing what you want to, and telling yourself why you should put it off.

Just do it.

Well, thanks to my sister and several other #glowgirl encouragers and supporters (that includes you!), I’m just doin‘ it, Honey.

I’m crazy excited to let you know that I’m working on an eBook that I’ll be sharing with you sometime in the next year. It’s my goal to craft a meaningful, purpose-driven, real and raw collection of writings that combine to encourage, inspire and motivate YOU in the often-confusing, sometimes-isolating and downright-exhausting journey we call motherhood.

I’m so thankful for your support. (Really. Sooooo grateful.) I can’t wait to share the book with you, and in the meantime, keep on glowing. Because, well ya know… #youglowgirl.
