It’s simple and rustic, and I love the whimsy that it brings to our mantle.
DIY canvas art is so fun!
Clean, simple, fresh and easy.
Just how I like it!
What you need:
3 pieces of driftwood (or backyard branches)
1 starfish (or star from craft store)
Hot glue gun (and extra glue sticks)
1 piece of white canvas
6 inches of twine
This couldn’t be easier. Are you ready? Take the canvas and use the hot glue gun to glue the driftwood and starfish onto it.
This is a simple, beautiful craft that I can honestly say is my #1 favorite Christmas decoration. A couple years ago, I took my toddler to the beach and let him collect driftwood. Then, we made this canvas and 2 more that I gave as gifts (which is another great way to avoid stressing out during the holidays).
If you don’t live near the beach, grab branches and twigs from your backyard or your neighborhood. Let the kids pick their favorites. You could even make a tiered Christmas tree using small pinecones. Whatever you find, putting natural items on a white canvas packs a punch and makes for a beautiful, simple decor item that anyone would love to receive as a gift.
I used twine make a hook that I hot-glued to the back of the canvas for hanging. But you could easily skip this step and just place this on your mantle or a shelf in your living room.
