Two of summer’s most amazing flavors collide in this fun and unexpected cocktail that’s perfect for a hot day outside.
Homemade mango-basil martini
2 ounces vodka
1 handful fresh basil
1/2 cup chopped mango (the softer the better!)
1 cup ice
Muddle basil in the bottom of cocktail shaker. Add mango and muddle (or mash) again. Add ice and vodka and shake it up! Use your fingers as a strainer as you pour the drink into the martini glass. (Probably not a proper bartender way of doing things, but it worked for me. This way, you get some of the fresh mango pulp but not too much.)
Garnish with a couple basil leaves, and you have yourself a fabulous-looking (and tasting!) cocktail!
If the martini is too much for you, add some Pellegrino and it becomes a mango-basil spritzer.
