No need to turn my camera to the special sports setting to take a picture of this little gorgeous piece of Heaven. Unlike our toddler, 3-day-old baby Porter lays still for Mama to snap away to her heart’s content. And that’s just what I’m doing. All the time.

For this picture, I simply moved our Ikea chair to the back of our hallway, used the French doors (behind the camera) for natural light and snapped away. As my mom pointed out, I made everything in this picture: the tunic Porter is wearing, the pillow behind him (love me some Chevron) and of course the sweet delicious slice of perfectness that is my little baby Porter (with a little help from the hubby and the Man upstairs).

Who could resist those sweet kissable lips?!?

I had seen something like this on Pinterest, so of course, I had to try it! The toughest thing about this shot is that Daddy’s arm had to be waaaaay stretched out so that his body wasn’t in the frame. This of course goes against the parental instinct to hold the baby in close to the bosom.

And is there any human way not to LOVE this sweet little face? Months before the baby, I recovered our old ottoman with gray Chevron (and it only cost me $4!). Anyway, since Porter isn’t moving or rolling yet, it ended up being a great photo prop. I just wrapped my little nugget in a white swaddling blanket, laid him right on top, pulled a chair up to him (to stand right over him and shoot the camera straight down)… and he did the rest. Oh the cuteness just about kills me!
